The general information about the Yaroslavl motor factory

The JSC "Avtodizel" (the Yaroslavl motor factory) - one of the oldest enterprises
of the Russian automotive industry. In 1920 - 50-s the production of the first in the
country 3-12-tonne automobiles, dump trucks, trolley buses, busesand automobile diesel
engines were mastered here.
Since 1958 the Yaroslavl motor factory specializes in the development and manufacture
of diesel power units of wide usage and is the recognized leader of national diesel
construction.
Today the following is produced under the mark "YaMZ":
- two families (dimensions D х S = 130 х 140 mm and D х S = 140 х 140 mm) four stroke 6-,
8-and 12-cylinder engines of 180 up to 800 h.p., including 45 updatings and over
100 complete sets;
- 5 base models and over 30 complete sets 5-, 6-, 8-and 9-speed gearboxes;
- 2 types (15 complete sets) of clutches; over 1000 types of spare parts;
- 15 types of stationary power units and combined units on the basis of YaMZ engines.
Yaroslavl motors have deserved the recognition of consumers for their high operational
qualities long ago:
- reliability and economy working in various climatic conditions;
- simplicity of maintenance;
- significant motor potential up to a major repair (up to 800 thousand kms of run).
The enterprise also carries out the development and setting of the original models of
engines with the appropriate updated characteristics on customer's equipment.
The Yaroslavl engines are installed on more than 280 objects, including:
- automobiles, main lorry convoys, dump trucks, bolster trucks, timber trucks, crane trucks
MAZ, KrAZ, UralAZ, ZIL;
- quarry dump trucks, scrapers, underground lorry convoys, trailors, air field tractors
BelAz, МoАZ;
- industrial and agricultural tractors, frontal loaders ChZPT, HTZ, the "Kirov factory"
(St.-Petersburg);
- special transport machines and units (ministry of defence of the Russian Federation)
MZKT, KZKT, IZTM, BAZ, Arzamas autofactory;
- grain harvesting combines "Rostelmash" of the Krasnoyarsk factory;
- excavators, cranes, road rollers, motor graders of the Voronezhsky, Kovrovsky, Kostromskoy,
Nizhne-Tagilsky excavator factories, the Ivanovsky, Yurginsky crane, the Chelyabinsky,
Rybinsky, Orlovsky factories of road machines;
- railway motor cars and other machinary of the Muromsky, Kalugsky, Ludinovsky, Tihorecsky,
Kirovsky machine factories;
- urban and suburban buses AMAZ, LAZ, "Volzhanin", MARZ;
- and also on diesel engines - power plants and units, compressor stations, pumping, ship
settings;
- on snow-removing, fire-fighting, tree-felling and packaging machines, on boats,
off-road cars, concrete-mixer and other machines.
